  Israel präsentiert sich mit mehr als 50 Ausstellern vom 10. bis 14. März auf der größten Touristik-Messe der Welt, der Internationalen Tourismusbörse Berlin (ITB).
Nicht nur Kultur, Kulinarik und Reiseinspirationen zwischen Orient und Okzident auf der weltweit führenden Reisemesse in Berlin, sondern Israel wartet mit einer exotischen Neuigkeit auf: Gays im Heiligen Land willkommen.Tel Aviv die Gay-Metropole am Mittelmeer
Die Stadt die übersetzt "Frühlingshügel" heißt - auch "die weiße Stadt" genannt wird und niemals schläft. Inzwischen zu den Top Ten unter den Party- und Highlife Metropolen der Welt gekürt wurde. Mit ausgelassenem  Nachtleben das jung, exzessiv, hemmungslos ist. Hier wird gefeiert, getrunken und gebaggert, was das Zeug hält und vor allem gelebt. Längst ist Tel Aviv den Gay-Metropolen wie Köln und San Francisco im Rang gleich gestellt. Tel Aviv eine Metropole in der auch weltweit gültige Trends entstehen.
Auch das haben die Stadtoberen von Tel Aviv erkannt und wissen die Schwulen gehören dazu, darum wollen sie diese Entwicklung weiter fördern. Der Etat für die Förderung des Gay-Tourismus nach Tel Aviv wurde erhöht. Dies teilten der Generaldirektor des Tel Aviver Tourismusvereins, Itai Gargir und der für Tourismus zuständige Stadtrat Yaniv Weizmann mit. Der Etat wird von 50.000 Schekel für das Jahr 2010 verzehnfacht  - auf eine halbe Million.

Der größten Schwulenparade am Mittelmeer - Festival des Regenbogens  
 
Tel Aviv - Die israelische Mittelmeermetropole wird an diesem Freitag wieder die größte Schwulenparade am Mittelmeer unter der Teilnahme vieler Gäste aus aller Welt abhalten. Bekleidet mit phantasievollen Kostümen verwandeln Gays aus Israel und aller Welt die weiße Stadt in ein Festival der Farben. Anschließend sind Partys in der ganzen Stadt angesagt  - es legen die führenden DJs Israels, aus Europa und den USA auf. Die meisten Clubs öffnen um Mitternacht und geht es so richtig los.Mittelfristiges Ziel ist eine internationale Gay-Parade in Tel Aviv
In der Wirtschaftsbeilage der größten israelischen Tageszeitung, Jedioth Achronoth, befasst sich Dani Sade mit Tourismus und berichte, dass die Stadt Tel Aviv verstärkt auf den Gay-Tourismus setzt.Die Stadt Tel Aviv und der Hotelverband der Stadt werden besondere Betonung auf den Gay-Tourismus legen. Die Mitglieder des Tourismusvereins teilen mit, ihr Ziel sei es, die Gay-Parade 2013 in Tel Aviv auszurichten und haben bereits einen offiziellen Antrag beim internationalen Verband für Gay-Tourismus eingereicht.
Die Parade würde einen wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Aufschwung mit sich bringen und zahlreiche Touristen nach Tel Aviv bringen. Es wird genau wie bei der Parade in Barcelona mit anderthalb Millionen Touristen gerechnet.
 
Vor etwa zwei Jahren begann Tel Aviv damit, sich als Ziel für Gay-Tourismus zu vermarkten und vor allem auch Ziel für den „City Break“ Tourismus (Städtetouren), d.h. für drei bis fünftägige Besuche an den Wochenenden zu eröffnen. Im Rahmen der Gay-Week, die im Juni stattfindet, wurde in der Nähe vom Meir Park in Tel Aviv ein „Love Village“ eingerichtet,  die Stadt erwartet die Ankunft zahlreicher Touristen.
Im Marker - der Wirtschaftsbeilage von haArez, wird eine Tourismusstatistik aus der „New York Times“ zitiert, aus der hervorgeht, dass die Deutschen am meisten für Tourismus ausgeben.
Das alles sind erstklassige Vorzeichen für die diesjährige ITB Berlin: Vom
10. bis 14. März 2010 präsentieren rund 11.000 Aussteller aus über 180 Ländern die neuesten Reisetrends und touristischen Produkte. Die führende Messe der weltweiten Reiseindustrie erwartet rund 100.000 Fach- und 70.000 Privatbesucher und verzeichnet auch in diesem Jahr einen sehr guten Buchungsstand. Das belegen auch die zahlreichen Neuheiten in diesem Jahr.

Muncipality files official request to host parade in 2013, announces increase in marketing budget for attracting gay tourism. As part of project aimed at boosting Israel's international image "gay bus" to tour European festivals

The marketing budget for attracting gay tourists to Tel Aviv is to increase 10 times over, Eti Gargir, CEO of the Tel Aviv Tourist Association and Yaniv Weizman, manager of the tourism portfolio in the municipality said last week.

 

 The marketing budget will climb from NIS 50,000 (about $13,300) in 2009 to roughly NIS 500,000 (approximately $130,300) in 2010. The Tel Aviv Municipality and the Israeli Hotel Association will particularly target the gay community in their efforts to attract tourism.

 

"The gay tourist likes urban vacations, he forms attachments with the community in the cities he visits, enjoys partying and usually returns to places he had a good time in," Weizman said. "This is established tourism which draws in young tourism and sets trends which other sectors of the population adopt."

 

 The Tel Aviv Tourist Association is interested in hosting the international gay pride parade in 2013 in the city and has already filed a formal request with the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association. "The parade will boost economic and cultural prosperity and will attract thousands of tourists. The Barcelona parade for example was attended by a million and a half tourists."

 

 The Tel Aviv Municipality started marketing itself as a gay travel destination and specifically as a "City Break" destination which is suitable for vacations of 3-5 days, mainly during weekends. As part of the gay and lesbian week to be celebrated this June the city will set up a "love village" in the Meir Park which is slated to attract many tourists.

 

Gay bus

The Tel Aviv Municipality together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the gay center are working on a plan to purchase a bus which will shuttle between gay festivals in Europe and promote Israel's international image.

 

 According to the plan, the bus will transport Israeli dancers, play Israeli music and serve as a marketing platform for Israel and the branding of Tel Aviv as its national gay city. Festival goers will be offered Israeli food and will get a chance to watch Israeli films on board the vehicle.

 

 Municipal officials are also considering making a documentary film inspired by the Australian hit " Priscilla Queen of the Desert" which will accompany the bus across Europe. The bus is slated to start its journey in Madrid and will visit Berlin, Warsaw, London and Rome.

 

Since the project is estimated to cost several hundred thousand dollars, the municipality has turned to the Foreign Ministry for funding support.

 

"We are examining the idea. The project has many advantages in that it can reach young and liberal audiences with which Israel usually has a severe image problem," a senior official in the Foreign Ministry said.
